Gable Tostee, the Gold Coast man who was last year acquitted of killing his Tinder date Warriena Wright in 2014, has spoken out about his return to Tinder during a live interview with breakfast radio hosts Kyle & Jackie O.
"A lot of the time I sort of wonder, 'Do they recognise me, do they know who I am?'" he said.
"Some people might not bring [the case] up out of politeness... Sometimes it's an elephant in the room."
Tostee had previously challenged news outlets to hold a "live and unedited" discussion with him, accusing media of being "chickenshit" in a Facebook post.
The controversial KIIS FM hosts, who host the top-rating show on FM breakfast radio, took him up on the offer.
The interview has drawn criticism from listeners online, who questioned the show's decision to give airtime to Tostee.
Tostee, who said he changed his name to Eric Thomas in January 2015 ("I'm not trying to hide or anything," he said), blamed the media for misleading the public about the specifics of the trial.
"If you're telling a story and you cut parts out, what you don't say speaks just as loudly as what you do say," he said.
"You can't just cherry-pick bits and pieces and stitch them together, and that's often what the evening news does."

Tostee was last year found not guilty of both the murder and manslaughter of New Zealander Warriena Wright, who fell from his Surfers Paradise balcony following an August 2014 Tinder date.
The dramatic court case grabbed headlines amid CCTV footage and secret mobile phone video Tostee recorded in the hours before Wright's death, and was almost undone after a juror posted about the trial on Instagram.
Tostee had previously spoken out on the high-profile trial in an interview with 60 Minutes in October, for which he was reportedly paid a six-figure sum. He's also regularly commented on the case on social media.
He says he's been the subject of online abuse ever since he was acquitted in November.
"I haven't had anyone harass me in real life. Most of the trolls are confined behind a screen," he said.
"I get random messages on Facebook from complete strangers calling me all sorts of things, assuming all sorts of things.
"I still find it kind of surreal and odd, to be honest," he added.
