Coming off a narrow win from the previous week, the Park Ridge Pirates under 14s were tasked with extending their winning streak to two at home against the Sandgate Hawks.
The young Pirates side could not have asked for a better start, dominating every statistic in the first quarter as they got on top of their opponents.
The under 14s repeated their first-quarter efforts with an amazing second quarter where they were able to convert more of their opportunities into points.
The team made sure the coaches had nothing to worry about this week in terms of their effort over four quarters, and proved that they do have what it takes to play out the whole game and stick to the game plan their coaches laid out for them.

Reserves
The Pirates reserves played at home against a fit Kenmore Bears outfit on Saturday.
The first quarter began with nothing less than a hard and physical contest.
The match was on for just ten minutes before it was forced to stop due to a heavy contact in the middle. An ambulance was subsequently called to treat an injured player.
Once the game was back underway, Park Ridge were back on the defensive.
This pattern continued throughout the first half of the match leaving the team overwhelmed and without a goal, with the score at just two points to 50 going into the main break.
With some soul searching in the rooms at half-time, the Pirates reserves came out more determined and managed to slow Kenmore’s run on the scoreboard.
Park Ridge’s improved second half display was thanks largely to amazing performances from young Pirates Nate Colenso and Riley Greene, both under 16s, who put their hands up to play reserve grade football, acquitting themselves well in defence and providing drive in attack.
