A NEW half-soccer field, a half-basketball court, picnic facilities and a renovated playground were open for exploration by families at Greenbank’s Spring Mountain Estate on Saturday, May 13.
Spring Mountain Reserve on Tully Connection Road has been completely upgraded by developers Peet Limited, which hosted a free family barbecue.
The Logan Village Lions Club provided a sausage sizzle while local children scrambled over the new fort, and live music was provided by local singer-guitarist Shane Taylor.
Nearby, a family of kangaroos was observed lazily watching from under giant eucalyptus trees.
Peet CEO and Managing Director Brendan Gore said the new park was an important facility for the growing community.
“The park is a beautiful space. The reserve is expansive with huge trees and rolling green lawns and new picnic facilities for family gatherings,” he said.
“Although most residents have huge backyards, Spring Mountain Estate is growing quickly, so it’s important for neighbours to have a place where they can meet and get to know each other.”
Once fully developed the community will include almost 1000 homes. It is one of a limited number of acreage estates in the Greater Flagstone Priority Development Area.
Head to the park again on Sunday, May 28 for the start of the Spring Mountain Endurance Challenge, one of the most gruelling endurance horse rides on the national sporting calendar.
