The latest Brisbane City Council speed data has revealed motorists are driving at excessive speeds with some pushing the speed limit by more than 70 per cent.
The council's $5 million portable speed warning signs programs was introduced November, 2013 and is designed to register a driver's speed and issue them with a visual warning to slow down if they are exceeding the limit.
If they are below the speed limit, a smiley face appears on the sign.
The signs stay in place for a minimum of four weeks and are then rotated to new locations.
The latest data, from speed signs, understood to have been in use throughout March this year, revealed the city's worst spots for speedsters.

Acacia Ridge - Watson Road - 71.6 per cent of 153,938 motorists exceeded the 60km/h limit
Albion - McLennan Street - 61.2 per cent of 131,657 motorists exceeded the 50km/h limit
Karana Downs - Tanderra Way - 53.1 per cent of 114,152 motorists exceeded the 60km/h limit
McDowall - Raven Street - 53 per cent of 15,778 motorists exceeded the 50km/h limit
Bellbowrie - Pioneer Crescent - 47.4 per cent of motorists exceeded the 50km/h limit
Lowest number of speeding motorists
Inala - Partidge Street - 0.1 per cent of 215,038 motorists exceeded the 60km/h limit
Indooroopilly - Stanley Street - 0.2 per cent of 99,865 motorists exceeded the 50km/h limit
The Gap - Kays Road - 0.8 per cent of 56,756 motorists exceeded the 40km/h limit
Wavell Heights - Highcrest Avenue - 0.9 per cent of motorists exceeded the 50km/h limit
Annerley - Annerley Road - 1.5 per cent of motorists exceeded the 60km/h limit
Lord Mayor Graham Quirk said more than 100 million motorists had passed through the signs since their installation and that on average 19 per cent of passing vehicles were above the limit, but 40 per cent reduced their speed to below the speed limit as a result of the warning on the sign.
"Speeding vehicles slowed down by by an average of 9.2 kilometres per hour within seconds of being alerted to their speed by the signs and even those travelling under the limit have reduced their speed," Cr Quirk said.
"These signs are all about driving greater awareness while motorists are on our road to ensure that our suburban streets remain as safe as possible for pedestrians and all road users."
Of the top five recorded speeding stops two were near a park or playground and one was opposite a scout shed.
Cr Quirk said in some situations where the signs identified a particularly bad spot they would inform the Queensland Police Service.
"If there no change in driver behaviour then it becomes a question of police enforcement, it's all about reducing speed limits."
