While a dawn service took place at Honora Street’s WWI cenotaph earlier about 4.30am, it was the 7am march which drew the crowds.
Spectators, who lined the street, followed the procession towards Rotary Park for the 7.30am service.
They were addressed by Jimboomba RSL Sub Branch president Bill Malkin AM and special guest Major David Jones, from the Royal Australian Artillery at Enoggera Barracks.
Both men reminded those gathered of the courage shown by those who served and the tragedies of war.
A prayer was led by Jimboomba Anglican Church’s Father Dan Talbot, followed by Emmaus College school captain Angelina Kardum’s Anzac requiem.
As wreaths were lowered onto the ground by dignitaries, guests and school children, Flagstone State School’s Animato Voce choir serenaded.
Flagstone State School student Jack Wiley performed the Last Post, with the Australian and New Zealand national anthems sang by Cindy Russell.
