IT WAS a case of better late then never for Easter celebrations at Jimboomba State School.
While ex-tropical cyclone Debbie-related school closures last term meant celebrations were postponed, the fun was in full swing last Friday.
About 120 preparatory students dazzled their parents and families at an Easter hat parade and concert, which was held in the school’s multi-purpose hall.
While some children wore paper crowns glued with cotton ball bunny tails and chickens, others sported brimmed hats decorated with colourful Easter trinkets.
All were handmade by the prep students, with help from their teachers and parents.
Lower school deputy principal Grant Pyke said the concert’s creativity was incredible.
Not only did the children model their hats in a march around the hall, they also performed class dances to bunny hip-hop music.
While Mr Pyke said dance rehearsals mostly took place before term break, he was delighted students remembered their moves for the concert.
“The kids had practised so much and three weeks later, they still performed really well,” he said.
“It was wonderful we were still able to do the Easter concert to showcase the efforts students, teachers and parents had put into it.”
