AS rain and wind intensify motorists are being urged to take heed of warning and stay off the roads.
The Mount Lindesay Highway was closed for more than two hours this morning after a two truck crash.
Flood warnings are in place for the Logan and Albert Rivers between Wyaralong and Logan City.
Schmidt’s Creek at Logan Reserve, Henderson Creek at Jimboomba, and Scrubby Creek at Marsden have all increased significantly since 9am. All corresponding bridges are affected.
Oxley Creek at Greenbank has not yet cut the road.
Over the past 24 hours Upper Quinzeh Creek has recorded 119mm, Maclean Bridge 85mm, Cedar Grove Wier 71mm and Flagstone Creek 91mm.
Sandbags are now limited to 10 per person due to the need to meet demand across the city.
SES depots at Daisy Hill (26-36 Winnetts Rd) have refreshed stock of sandbags and arrangements are being made to replenish stock.
Sandbag stocks at Eagleby Community Centre (8-16 Cowper Avenue, Eagleby) are exhausted and council is working to replenish them.
Other location for sandbags include Logan Village (1464 Waterford-Tamborine Rd), Logan City Council's Marsden Depot (181 Chambers Flat Rd, Marsden) and the Munruben depot. With the exception of Marsden, people will be expected to fill the sandbags themselves.
The RSPCA has been receiving calls from people who have ignored warnings and not moved their animals to higher ground.
RSPCA Qld spokesperson Michael Beatty said a lady abused an animal ambulance officer because we weren’t able to rescue her horse.
Woolworths stores across South East Queensland will close at 5pm on Thursday to ensure staff can return home.
A spokesperson for the organisation said they will continue to monitor and evaluate the situation closely.
“At this stage we expect to re-open all stores tomorrow, Friday, March 31,” the spokesperson said.
