Les Young has been re-appointed as the Canberra Heat head coach for the next two years for the Australian Volleyball League season.
Young will lead the team on a challenging international pre-season campaign ahead of the AVL in November, including a trip to Vietnam in April as Australia's representative at the Asian club championships.
The Heat will play against teams from Qatar, Kazakstan and Hong Kong in their pool.
Young has been coaching the Heat for the past six years and said: "The team was rebuilding [in 2016] as we had to replace players that had secured international professional contracts and college scholarships.
"With a year of experience playing at the elite level the team has matured thanks in part to the strong leadership and mentoring of 2012 Olympian and 2016 AVL Best Blocker Travis Passier and Canberra Heat captain and 2016 Best Receiver Andre Borgeaud."
Volleyball ACT boss Adam Castle said: "It's great to have Les back coaching the men's Canberra Heat team. He has been instrumental in building the men's Heat so that each year they are in contention for the Australian Volleyball League finals.
"For the past four years, the men's team has been in the gold medal playoffs - winning gold in 2011 and 2015 against their rivals Queensland."
