COMMUNITY groups focused on preserving Australia’s wartime heritage can apply for up to $4000 funding.
It is all part of the Department of Veterans’ Affairs’ Saluting their Service commemorative grants program to help highlight the sacrifice of Australia’s servicemen and women in wars, conflicts and peace operations.
Federal Member for Wright Scott Buchholz said he encourage RSLs, schools and other organisations to apply.
“With ANZAC Day around the corner, it is a timely reminder of the service and sacrifice of our servicemen and women,” he said.
“These grants support local, community-based projects such as the preservation of wartime memorabilia, establishing new memorials and flag poles and restoring existing memorials and local rolls of honour.”
Extra money is also available to larger memorial projects at state and national level.
