Emmaus College fenced off an area and declared it an Environmental Park 6 years ago.
Ever since students and staff of the Emmaus College community have been caring for it.
Early last week the Journalism Club interviewed Principal, Mr Schwede and he said that he believes that this park is important to our community as it allows people to get involved and learn about the rare species that the park contains to protect them further in the future.
The conservation park is home to many endangered plants and trees including the Melaleuca Irbyana.
Conserving this area will ensure that future generations will continue to enjoy and use this green space for many activities including orienteering, studying, fitness and recreation.
