It was a solid weekend of competition for the RJ Golf Apparel Hills Golf Club Pennant sides.
The division one team have kept their season well and truly alive with a closely fought battle at home against Riverlakes.
The Jimboomba team prevailed 3 - 2.
In the fourball, the pairing of Wayne Wang and Dragon Chai won their match 3&1.
The foursomes of Bright Thongsom and Ming Natchaporn went down 3&1 with captain Ultra Namkang uncharacteristically losing his singles match 4&2.
Tsukasa Maki had one of the easiest victories of his pennant career by winning 9&8 whilst Ryonusuke Seki won his match easily 7&6.
It keeps their season alive after winning six fixtures and losing just one with the fixture they lost away to Carbrook.
This week the division one side have a chance for redemption, hosting the Carbrook outfit.
This fixture is shaping up to be a mouthwatering contest and could go a long way to deciding the overall outcome of the competition.
The division two outfit hosted Bay Island, grinding out what was a very tight square.
The fourball pairing of Phil Bourke and Dan Mollica combined well to fight back from an early deficit to get up 3&2, however the team of Lance Eade and Matt Forshey could not do the same going down 2&1.
In Singles action number one Adrian Paterson won convincingly, 8&7, captain Simon Hewitt fought hard from being three down early, going down 2&1, Rob Rochford found the day tough going down 3&2 with number two Ricky Forshey grinding out a solid 18 holes to win the last hole and take out the match one up, sealing the critical square for Jimboomba.
This week the division two side travel to Redland Bay in what is shaping to be a must win to stay in touch with the pool frontrunners, Windaroo and Bay Islands.
After a tough square at home last round the division three side travelled to Windaroo looking to make amends.
In a close encounter the Jimboomba side got up 3 ½ - 2 ½ .
The fourball pairing of Craig Pickering and Kevin Gardner went down in an up and down affair 2&1 with the pairing of Gary Paul and Fred Kernaghan fought out a one up victory, winning the 18th hole to seal their match.
In the singles Martin Friswell could not continue his great form going down 4&2, Nick Hoffman bounced back after a disappointing performance last round winning two up, captain John Biddlecombe won convincingly 9&8, Grant Bentley fought back from being four down early in his match to get the critical match square for this outfit to take full points.
The win has the division three side poised nicely to feature in this year’s finals series.
The team travels away to Logan city this weekend looking to solidify their position in their pool.
