Police are targeting schools zones in Jimboomba with the recent addition of a mobile speed camera on the Mount Lindesay Highway.
Officer in Charge of Jimboomba Police Station Senior Sergeant Peter Waugh said officers acknowledged that speeding in school zones was an issue across the Logan Policing District.
“We are finding, as more people move into the area, the traffic volume is increasing,” he said.
“Despite school zones being well signed, we are still seeing motorists speeding through the areas.”
Senior Sergeant Waugh said the mobile speed camera was an overt initiative to keep road safety at the front of driver’s minds.
“The camera will be moved throughout the district to high risk areas including schools zones and areas with road works,” he said.
