Superstar soccer players Caden Barry and Nishant Chand have made it through to the Beaudesert Zone 10-12 years representative team.
The Jimboomba State School year five students were some of the lucky boys whose hard work paid off for selection in the representative side.
Caden said he was surprised at the level of competition at the first trial round.
“We didn’t think we would even make it this far,” he said.
“Those players were good and they had practiced a lot.”
The boys trialed in Beaudesert earlier this year and have been training with their team of 14 to be fighting fit for the Pacific District trials which are set to be held at Canterbury College in later this month.
Nishant said the team had been working on their one versus one skills at training.
“This helps us with getting past all the other players,” he said.
“It helps knowing some of the boys playing because you know how they play already.”
Sports coordinator Paul Ball said he wished the boys the best of luck for their trials against Beenleigh.
“Both of these boys are only 10-years-old so they are young for the age group,” he said.
“This will be great for them as they have two more years in the same age bracket.”
The boys are aiming to make it through to the Pacific District team, which will allow them to trial for the South Coast team.
