Camping, fishing and adventure are just some of the sights to be be seen at Jimboomba’s South East Queensland Expo.
More than 100 exhibitors, specialising in outdoor recreation and leisure activities as well as farming and rural needs, will be showcased at Hills International College, Jimboomba, between March 17 and 19.
Family-friendly entertainment will be on offer from camp oven expert Ranger Nick and Shimano fishing legend Dave Moss, while, Ashley Sutton will showcase a range of blacksmith techniques and Luke Cheyne will present a reptile show.
Organiser John Weir said the expo was an opportunity for Jimboomba to shine.
“Having an expo like this really brings attention to our fast-growing region,” he said.
“Exhibitors are really excited to come along and have that country hospitality.”
Mr Weir said the re-branding from Jimboomba Field Days to the South East Queensland Expo had broadened the appeal of the event.
“This isn’t your standard caravan or camping show,” he said.
“Anyone can come along and learn about outdoor and recreation activities.
“We hope to see 10,000 people through the gates over the three days.”
Not only will the Jimboomba Hall upgrade benefit from the expo, but so too will LifeFlight and the Heart of Australia.
“We wanted to help a local project, as well as LifeFlight which is used locally,” he said.
“The Heart of Australia helps out our Queensland neighbours and was chosen to ensure we spread our wings.”
Hills International College is located on the corner of Johanna Street and the Mount Lindesay Highway.
Gates open at 10am on March 17. Parking is free.
