Imagine being able to make your camp side cooking a five star affair.
Think brandy mango crustaceans, treacle bun tart or banana cake.
Not only would you have a full stomach, but you’d be the person everyone wants to go camping with.
It’s a menu that doesn’t sound like it should be on cards for your next camping trip, but there is one man who will promptly disagree.
“The food is simple; it takes what you know from the kitchen and takes it to the camp fire,” Ranger Nick said.

Ranger Nick, a born and bred Queensland country boy, is the master of the cast iron camp oven and putting together a beautiful mix whatever goodies you have tucked away in the tuckerbox.
Epitomising the Aussie larrikin Ranger Nick will not only have you becoming a five star chef by the campfire after his expo demonstration, but inspired to start sprouting out your own bush ballads.
During the South East Queensland Expo he will be demonstrating how to create a stunning three course bush meal.
“In a day I try and cover the three heat sources you need for cooking: gas, woodfire and briquettes, or heat beads,” Ranger Nick said.
“Once you know how to control the heat, you’ve got it sorted.
“I also cover how to ID timber which is good for coals, before setting out to create three different meals.”
His recipe repertoire of what can be achieved while out bush will leave those used to pull out the old baked bean cans in awe.
“I love to encourage people to play with their food and have fun while cooking out,” celebrity chef Ranger Nick said.
