Park Ridge Panthers Cricket Club have doubled their Pink Stumps day fundraising goal by raising $1000 for the McGrath foundation on February 18.
The crowds were down on expected but the Panthers did not let that get in the way of a fantastic day.
Club spokeswoman Sam Bloomfield said the children and players had a ball and did not stop all day.
“All of the fun activities started at 10am with the high tea tent a huge hit with the mums and daughters,” she said.
“They were able to sit back and watch their kids play cricket while relaxing with cake and tea, which was a rare treat for our mums.
“We are extremely proud of our efforts and are looking forward to doing it again next year.”
The action started with the under 10s and 12s teams playing their regular club games.
“All teams stood tall and proud wearing their pink for the McGrath Foundation,” Ms Bloomfield said.
Through the day there was face painting, a jumping castle, fairy floss and the Milo T20 Blast ran games for the children.
Ms Bloomfield said once the games had finished, the club had a biggest hitter challenge for all the children.
“You could see the determination to beat their mates on their faces,” she said.
“Each age group had a winner but Matt Casey, from the under 15s side, was the biggest hitter for the day.”
To finish off the day the club played a T20 game with mixed ages from under 10s through to older players.
Ms Bloomfield said the game was great.
“It was an awesome to see all the players laughing and having a fantastic time,” she said.
