Police have issued a reminder to residents to lock their homes and vehicles after a number of break-ins in the Logan Policing District.
Partly completed houses have been targeted in a number of areas, with items such as copper piping and building materials taken.
Property items such as purses, handbags, car keys, electrical items and cash have also been taken.
Police said homes were being accessed by windows and doors.
They recommend to fit doors with deadlocks, have security screens with locks installed on windows and doors, install alarms and sensor lights – and ensure they are switched on.
Police also warn residents to never leave large amounts of cash, expensive electronics, handbags and mobile phones in plain sight.
Engraving items and recording serial numbers is another property safety precaution that residents can do.
Several vehicle thefts have occurred after motorists have left their vehicles unlocked or their windows down.
Police recommend to lock doors, close windows, remove valuable objects, remove keys from ignition and park in well-lit areas.
