Tamborine Pony Club had a very successful year in 2016, which was marked at a recent function, awards were given to both riders and parents and those who did major roles in the club were acknowledged and thanked.
Zoe Girle was awarded the Tamborine Club’s Spirit Award, reflecting her participation and assistance throughout the year.
The Most Improved Rider was Anika Yuke whilst the Encouragement Award went to Dannan Isherwood.
Ashleigh Lane won the inaugral Most Successful Competitor Award as she represented the Club at many Official competitions and then went on to be placed at some of the State Championships which she attended.
The President’s Award for a member or members who consistently assist and support the Club and its activities was shared by Lisa Geldart and Allison Homer: both were new members this year who have shown great Club spirit.
Awards for attendance and presentation at Points’ Days were given out as well as the many certificates which members have been working towards.
These certificates reflect the Pony Club syllabus in practical riding and horsemanship and are designed for different age groups.
The Club is anticipating another good year in 2017 with the completion of a new toilet and shower block and the renovation and extension to the new Clubhouse and canteen.
Additionally the club will host the cross country and showjumping phases of the PCQ State Horse Trials’ Championships which will bring riders from across the state.
This is very gratifying and rewarding as this course was only built in 2014.
