A free community event organised by Logan City Council will help residents better prepare for the potential threats of hazards including storms, fires and flooding.
Logan's Big Safe Day out is a free event held on Sunday October 16 in Kingston’s Gould Adams Park, with the aim of helping residents identify and prepare for potential threats caused by severe weather.
Experts from a wide range of emergency service agencies and community organisations will provide demonstrations and valuable tips about how to prepare for, respond to and recover from severe weather.
Agencies participating include:Logan City Council, Queensland Fire and Emergency Services, State Emergency Services, Australian Red Cross, Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services, Queensland Police Service, Queensland Ambulance Service, GIVIT, CrimeStoppers; and, Multilink.
There will also be a jumping castle and face painting for the kids, along with a free sausage sizzle provided by Marsden Lions Club.
101FM will also be broadcasting live from the event throughout the day.
Logan's Big Safe Day Out will run from 9am – 2pm on October 16.
