Jamie Whincup will take pole position for the 2016 Bathurst 1000 on Sunday after recording a 2:05:42 in Saturday’s Top 10 Shootout.
Whincup and team mate Paul Dumbrell took provisional pole on Friday following qualifying at Mount Panorama.
“Car’s very good, happy to get the result and start in the best place tomorrow, it’s a long day ahead,” Whincup told Supercars Australia following his fast lap.

The 2016 Bathurst 1000 will start at 11:10am on Sunday. Former winners of the Peter Brock Trophy will participate in the King of the Mountain Parade at 10.05am at Mount Panorama.
