Earlier this year Flagstone State Community College raised funds to help after the devastating cyclone in Ba, Fiji.
Jimboomba’s Quota International helped them to send the funds to the Quota sister club in the region.
Cross Country captain Shana Egan, was unable to be at the thankyou presentation by Quota last week, but due to her tenacity the school was able to raise $1089.50 to go towards the grassroots effort of improving life, repairing homes and the school for the families of Ba.
The sports captains rallied the students of Flagstone by putting their teachers up to be covered in slime at the cross country carnival.
Although the student did not raise enough to cover their principal Jude Fox, they were able to slime a fair few of their educators.
Year 12 coordinator Emma Pointer said she was very proud of the groups efforts.
“We have teachers and connections to Fiji and so that was what brought it home for these students to get involved,” she said.
Quota president Romy Farrer said they were more than happy to help facilitate the funds going to a worthy cause.
