People in Logan and surrounding areas are being asked to celebrate #headspaceday to raise awareness about youth mental health on October 11.
#headspaceday is about ensuring young people across the country have access to youth friendly, mental health services, no matter where they live.
Celebrities, sports stars, musicians and politicians will be wearing #headspaceday wristbands to show their support on 11 October and Logan residents can jump in on the action too by dropping into headspace Meadowbrook to pick up an Access All Areas wristband.
From there they can take a photo and share on social media with the hashtag #headspaceday.
headspace Meadowbrook will also host an event on Monday, 10 October to mark the day.
headspace Meadowbrook centre manager Jacklyn Whybrow said #headspaceday is an unprecedented opportunity for people in Logan to raise awareness about youth mental health.
“By wearing a #headspaceday wristband on 11 October, every Australian can share their support for young people experiencing mental health issues and raise awareness about the importance of access to services for all young people,” she said.
Young people can visit any one of the 95 centres across the country to get help, seek advice or have a chat online or over the phone, from anywhere in Australia, through eheadspace.
