FOUR people have now been charged in relation to the murder investigation of schoolgirl Tiahleigh Palmer.
Chambers Flat man Rick Thorburn, 56, has been charged with one count of murder and one count of interfering with a corpse.
Mr Thorburn’s wife Julene, 54, was also charged overnight with perjury and attempting to pervert the course of justice.
The couple were the foster parents of Tiahleigh.
A 19-year-old man and a 20-year-old man, Tiahleigh’s foster brothers, were also charged with perjury and attempting to pervert the course of justice.
The 19-year-old man was also charged with incest.
All charges relate to the disappearance and murder of schoolgirl Tiahleigh Palmer, 12, who was last seen after being dropped off by Mr Thornurn at Marsden High on October 30 last year.
Her body was found a week later on the banks of the Pimpama River in the northern Gold Coast.
On Wednesday, the Courier Mail reported that police will allege the murder was committed by Mr Thorburn to conceal a sexual relationship between the 12-year-old girl and one of her foster brothers.
Mr Thorburn and his 19-year-old son were due to appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
Ms Thorburn and her 20-year-old son will appear in court on October 10.
