In a surprise move, Saturday night’s 21st annual Daffodil Ball became a wedding renewal for two Jimboomba residents.
Jim Trammell surprised his lovely wife, Tracee, by organising a renewal of vows officiated by Deana Peher, to celebrate their 15th wedding anniversary.
Mrs Trammell, who was attending the ball to celebrate her birthday got more than she had bargained for with a beautiful new ring and renewal ceremony.
Mr Trammell said the Daffodil Ball came as the perfect opportunity to host the renewal.
Mrs Trammell was stunned as she took to the stage for her birthday surprise.
“I just can’t believe it, I’ve talked about it before, but I thought we’d wait until our 20th anniversary,” she said.
The Trammells met 20 years ago at the Jimboomba Tavern and they have raised their five children here.
The theme of love was continued with former Jimboomba residents Warren and Michelle Erasmus, flying in from Perth to celebrate at the Daffodil Ball were they became engaged 10 years ago.
Jimboomba Cancer Council branch chairperson Sabine Sydenham was pleased with the turnout for the evening.
“It was such a lovely night and we even had a few surprises thrown in there,” she said.
“Seeing the vow renewal ceremony was certainly something different and made the night that much more special.
“Planning now begins for next year.”
Logan mayor Luke Smith congratulated the Jimboomba branch on their efforts to pull together the fantastic evening.
“Everyone in Logan is aware of someone who has suffered from cancer and I hope that everyone digs deep in support of the Cancer Council,” he said.
