Emmaus College students Timothy Sielaff-Burns and Nicholas Annakin have captained their respective south coast rugby league sides to third place victories.
As part of the south coast under 12 team Sielaff-Burns took a leadership role from the first training session.
Due to his commitment and passion the fullback was awarded the chance to lead the side to a clean streak of victories.
He was chosen as best back of the under 12s and named a man of the match.
After this competition, Sielaff-Burns was chosen to represent in the Queensland under 12s school boys side.
He took to the field as a left wing.
During his time in the Queensland side he also received a man of the match award.
The side brought home silver medals from Canberra, after being defeated by NSW in the grand final.
They knew they had a tough game ahead after only winning by two points in the pool game against the NSW boys.
Sielaff-Burns said the experience was a challenge but he learnt a lot about himself.
“It was an opportunity to prove myself,” he said.
“It got a bit intense but the boys and I pulled through.

“I think I’ll be training harder and pushing myself at every training now.”
Annakin led his under 11s South Coast to the third place, from the five-eighth position, after showing natural leadership skills during their training sessions.
The side were defensive on the line and worked together well throughout the week of competition in Maroochydore.
They had some close games and came up against tough Met North and Capricornia sides.
Annakin said he formed lasting friendships through the representative team.
“It was such a fun experience, even if we were pretty sore after the competition,” he said.
Annakin was awarded man of the match during their Sunshine Coast clash.
