Flagstone C&K held their family book week celebration on August 23.
The kinders dressed in their favourite pyjamas for the day and read books with their family or their group during the morning.
Director/Senior Teacher Sue Taylor said the celebration incorporated families to encourage reading and language.
“From the 2015 Australian Early Development Census we can see that Jimboomba has half the percentage of vulnerable children compared with the Queensland average,” she said.
The Jimboomba language statistics show a measure of only 4.1 per cent of children who are developmentally vulnerable in the category compared to Queensland which features at 8 per cent and Australia at 6.5 per cent.
Ms Taylor said the centre bases the children’s activities on this data and prepares celebration days, such as book week family day, to provide an aspect of learning through involvement.
