Rockin' Jimmy's a success

The annual St James Anglican Church event was a great success with more than 1200 people through the gates.

About 140 cars rolled in for the show and the new addition of the bike section brought even more competitors.

Father Dan Talbot said the turnout was fantastic.

“There was a very family friendly and relaxed vibe,” he said.

“It’s great to look around and see that many people on the church grounds.

“Our goal for next year will be just to bring more of the same, but bigger and better.

“We want to keep it a popular event that is supported by the community.

“I’d just like to give a big thank you to everyone who supported us and all the volunteers.” Entrants came from as far as Dalby to be included in the day.

Judges Chris Sydenham and Allan Eiseman said they took at least two looks around to mark the best of the best in the car show.

The dead set legend/car of the show award went to a teal 1974 Holden HQ Monaro. 

With 29 car clubs turning out to the event the best club turn out was awarded to Jimboomba Heritage Vehicle Club.

The rockabilly pin-up fashion was a hit as were the Village Rockers dancing to rock and roll classics performed by Little Stevie and The Tail-fins and Wood and Ash.
