Mount Tamborine’s STAR-Stitchers for animal rescue have received a huge donation of sheets and towels and free delivery from two Jimboomba businesses.
The group make pouches and other sewn goods free of charge to help wildlife and animal carers in the region.
They also create emergency pouches for wildlife after disasters all over Australia.
President Janet Green said this donation would make the world of difference to the group
“We had previously sourced pet towels from Brizzy Linen and so they thought of us when they had old stock,” she said.
“It was an absolutely fabulous donation of 500 towels and 500 sheets.
“Jimboomba Specialist Couriers couldn’t have been more helpful, they had the delivery up here that day.”
Ms Green said depending on the carers differing needs for pouches, each sheet could make about 10.
“This will help thousands of animals,” she said.
“I thought what is it about these Jimboomba people, just so helpful.”
Ms Green said the donation would save the group time and cost.
“We have a wonderful group here, it’s a well oiled machine,” she said.
“We normally have to put a post up on facebook and ask for donations, or go op shopping to find the materials we need.
“So this is just huge, and they are all of beautiful quality.”
