Flagstone State Community College year 12 students took part in the pinnacle program on June 21.
Pinnacle presented physical and mental challenges to the students through climbing activities.
Many students would not have completed the tasks if not for the ongoing cheers of their peers.
Students could attempt the nail walk which involved walking across a bed of nails with the support of two friends.
The looks of doubt turned to accomplishment when students successfully walked across the bed.
The next challenge was a ladder where students climbed straight up and were challenged to stand at the top on one foot.
Many underestimated the height and the final steps were the most difficult.
The next activity was a five meter rock climb wall with a backwards curve at the top, requiring students to use their upper body weight to pull them over the edge.
Lastly was the leap of faith, which only a few students took part in.
The students were harnessed in and climbed their way to the top of the tower.
They then threw themselves towards a trapeze, hung upside down and were lowered safely on to the mat below.
Danny Howard-Tauhiki, Tiara Wolstenholme and Kyle Howlett took on the Everest challenge, which involved climbing to the highest point of the tower, walking out to the furthest ledge and leaping off the edge.
The program was brought to the Pastor Daniel Cinzio and run with the assistance of Loretta the school chaplain and Bob Wylie.
