The Woodhill Billy Cart Derby is gearing up to celebrate 25 years of racing history on July 23.
The billy cart derby is held as a major fundraiser for the Woodhill P and C committee, with funds going back to the Woodhill State School.
This year’s derby has been marked as extra special by the addition of monster truck rides for the day.
P and C president Hailey Mayes said the day was a family fun day with something for everyone.
“We average around 2000 people and we hope to see even more this year,” she said.
“It’s a much bigger event this year and we have the monster trucks for the day.
“The preparation is going really well, we have great sponsors and are seeking more.
“The children are so excited, that’s all they talk about at school.”
The racers run four to five across the hill in the school playground with several age groups.
There will even be a corporate race-off this year.
And watch out the police radar will be out to catch the quickest downhill run of the day.
Entries are open up until the day for the derby with specifications available online, but there is an open class category for those who may not meet all the requirements.
