Hot rods and rockabilly will be all the rage in Jimboomba on July 9 with Rockin’ Jimmy’s being ready to rock and roll once again.
Rockin’ Jimmy’s is a major event for the Jimboomba Anglican Church and in it’s third year is expecting more than 1000 patrons through the gates.
There are 150 car spaces for those shiny cars ready for display as well as spaces for bikes to be shown off.
Entertainment for the day will be provided by Wood and Ash and Little Stevie and The Tail-fins.
Father Dan Talbot said the event started from his own interest in car shows.
“This event allows the Anglican Parish to continue to do their local community work,” he said.
“We don’t want to just look at raising funds, we want engage the community and break down those barriers between the church and the community.”
Father Talbot said the day had something for everyone.
“All our market stalls are full and we will have food available,” he said.
“Kidsland will be up and running and we will see the popular rockabilly fashion parade.
“We are expecting more cars this year and we are prepared for the event to grow.”
Head to St James Anglican Church, 47-57 East Street, Jimboomba, with spectators welcome from 8am until 2pm.
Car entry will begin from 6am until 9am, unless spaces are full prior to 9am.
Parking is available at Emmaus College.
