The Jimboomba United under 12s placed sixth on the competition ladder, hosted the competition front runners Souths United last Saturday at Kurrajong Park, Jimboomba, and pulled off an upset 3-2 win.
Both teams started slow, it wasn’t until the 18th minute that a goal was scored. Souths infringed outside the penalty area and from the indirect kick, Caleb Redway struck sending the ball into the top left hand corner of the goal. A cracking strike from Jack Williams soon after resulted in the ball hitting the left goal post and that’s how things stayed at half-time. The second half started quicker and three minutes in Souths scored to bring the score to 1-all.
An infringement from a Souths defender, this time inside the penalty area, led to Jay Moseley scoring from the rebound after his initial attempt was stopped. Rhys Comerford then pounced on a cross which he pushed wide of the Souths keeper for Jimboomba to go ahead 3-1. Souths pushed forward and got a lucky goal for 3-2.
