Queensland coach Kevin Walters says he did not see a NSW match plan allegedly left on a white board at ANZ Stadium.
Reports of the gaffe have been circulating all day. Upon his arrival at ANZ Stadium, Walters told Fox Sports: "I didn't see it if they did. A couple of players seem to think (it happened). Origin's not so much about game plans but who wants it most."
Walters also commented: "I was unsure during the week whether (Cooper Cronk) would play, the way it swelled up"
"I have been very nervous, It is a big challenge and big job we're trying to do."
According to The Courier Mail website, the masterplan of NSW coach Laurie Daley to beat the Maroons in the opening game of the series involves getting in the faces of gun halves Cooper Cronk and Johnathan Thurston, while simultaneously unsettling debutants Justin O'Neill and Corey Oates.
The Maroons allegedly discovered the surprise gift when they arrived at the venue for Tuesday's captain's run.
Asked about the rumour, former Maroon Justin Hodges told Fox Sports: "I heard something similar. But if that happened it'd be pretty silly. You don't want to give away your gameplan. If you look at guys like Thurston and Cronk, those are guys you always target. And it's vice-versa - Queensland will target Adam Reynolds and James Maloney as well. It goes both ways."
Hedging his bets on the veracity of the leak, Hodges added: "Loz is pretty good at doing some decoys. They also had Big Mal in there in Blues camp. Maybe he drew something up for the boys as a bit of a joke."
Meanwhile, Storm star Cooper Cronk has been declared fit to play in the opening encounter.
After rumours that Cronk had been given the green light, NSW's worst fears were confirmed by Maroons assistant Anthony Seibold on Wednesday morning.
"He trained really well last night. I can confirm he is going to start tonight," Seibold said.
Cronk went down at training after rolling his ankle at the team's Sanctuary Cove camp on Friday afternoon, fuelling days of speculation over whether it was merely a cunning ploy by the Queensland camp.
