The Logan Police and Mt Lindesay Ulysses Club Mater Little Miracles Charity Walk is aiming to raise $4000 when walkers pound the pavement on May 7.
The charity walk is now in its 10th year of walking in the area and 13th year of raising money for the hospital based charity according to organiser and Logan police officer Terry Armstrong.
“It’s our 10th year of walking in Brisbane and then we had three years out in the bush, it’s also our tenth year of working with the Ulysses club as well,” he said.
Approximately 20 participants including police officers, Ulysees members and Mater Foundation staff will walk from Bunnings Browns Plains through Marsden, Crestmead and Waterford and back to Bunnings Browns Plains, a total of 35km in an effort to raise funds with help from Ulysees club members.
“The main roads are Browns Plains Road, Kingston Road, and Chambers Flat Road, they’re our three big ones for collecting donations,” Mr Armstrong said.
“The Ulysses guys follow us around and they’ll also set up at safe areas and shake the tins for us, we have a few Ulysses girls doing the walk as well, which they have done for the past three years.”
The walk will begin at 7am with plans to finish by 3.30pm.
