LOGAN City Council chief executive officer Chris Rose has resigned after 10 years in the role.
Jimboomba Times has requested to speak with Mr Rose, but has been unable to reach him.
However, a Council spokesperson has confirmed the resignation.
Logan mayor Luke Smith said Mr Rose “had been an outstanding leader for Logan” since local government amalgamations in 2008.
“…Logan City Council needed a new identity that would be accepted by the rural and urban communities that had been bound together by amalgamations,” Cr Smith said.
“As Logan City Council’s CEO, Chris was instrumental in helping us forge that identity.
“He successfully delivered plans that supported council’s vision for improving the city’s infrastructure and image, and placed an emphasis on excellent customer service.”
Cr Smith said the CEO was leaving the council in a sound financial position and he expressed gratitude to Mr Rose for “his contributions and for the important role he has played in making the City of Logan what it is today”.
Mr Rose joined Logan City Council in 1995.
In 2010, he received the Public Service Medal in the Queen’s Honours list for his contribution to local government in Australia.
He is a Fellow of Local Government Managers Australia, a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
