A man believed to have gone into hiding after witnessing the alleged bashing of Logan pair Cory Breton and Iuliana Trescaru has been found by detectives investigating their alleged shooting deaths.
Police probing the alleged murders of Mr Breton and Ms Trescaru on the night of January 24 found the 32-year-old Crestmead man on Friday morning.
They are currently interviewing him over the suspected drug-related shooting deaths but, on Thursday, Detective Superintendent Dave Hutchinson said he was not a suspect.
Superintendent Hutchinson appealed for the man, along with a 25-year-old Kingston man, to come forward after six people were charged with Mr Breton and Ms Trescaru's murders overnight Wednesday.
He hinted the men may have gone into hiding after witnessing the pair bashed at a Kingston unit on the night of January 24, bound with gaffer tape and stuffed in a metal tradesman's box.
Two of the six people charged with the murders, Trent Michael Thrupp, 22, and Tuhirangi-Thomas Tahiata, 24, are then alleged to have driven the pair to a nearby dam, where they were taken out of the box and shot dead by Thrupp.
Their bodies were then allegedly returned to the box, which was thrown in the water.
"We would encourage them to come and see us now, circumstances have changed, people are in custody, so we would ask them to come forward and speak with us," Superintendent Hutchinson said on Thursday.
The 25-year-old Kingston man, a resident of the unit where the bashing is alleged to have occurred, was yet to be found.
Three New Zealand nationals, Davy Malu Junior Taiao, 21, Stou Daniels, 21 and Webbstar Latu, 31, are also among the six people charged with two counts of murder.
Mother-of-seven Ngatokoona Marieti, 36, from the Cook Islands, faces the same charges, as do Thrupp and Tahiata, who are both Australian citizens.
All six were remanded in custody in brief appearances in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Thursday.
They are scheduled to reappear on March 21.
Superintendent Hutchinson appealed for anyone who picked up two fluorescent yellow ratchet straps dumped on Third Avenue in Marsden after January 25 to contact police.
He said they were a crucial piece of evidence in the murder investigation.
"We would really like to recover those fluorescent yellow ratchet straps," Superintendent Hutchinson said.
"To them it's just a couple of ratchet straps, to us it's an integral part of the investigation."
Police have further appealed for anyone who saw a 1999 green Toyota Hilux ute in the Kingston area on the night of January 24 to contact them.
The ute is alleged to have transported the box with Mr Breton and Ms Trescaru inside to the dam, where their bodies were found by police divers on Thursday morning.
The pair were both reported missing in late January, along with their acquaintance Leelan Harrington.
Police appealed for information to find the trio in early February, believing their disappearances to be linked, however, Mr Harrington returned alive on February 9.
The 23-year-old lived at the Kingston unit, where the bashing of Mr Breton and Ms Trescaru is alleged to have occurred.
Mr Harrington was interviewed by police after he returned and soon after, two crime scenes were established at the unit and at a vacant block nearby.
The search for the remains focused on a dam on the block, until the box was found in chest deep water on Thursday morning.
Two bodies inside are still yet to be formally identified but are believed to be those of the missing pair.
