Artists get ready because Quota is calling for entries into this year’s show.
Now in its 14th year, the art show will be held on May 20 to 22 due to the Jimboomba Hall being too hot at the usual March show time.
Art show coordinator Julie Newman said anyone could enter.
“All the money we make goes back into the community,” she said.
“Quota retains 25 per cent commission from sales.
“It is a very professional event that showcases excellent local talent.
“Some people enter every year. We also get quite a few kids.
“We work all year around for this event.”
The opening night will be held on May 20 at 7pm.
Tickets will be available at the door and adult entry includes a complimentary glass of wine.
There will be a licensed bar and plenty of fun to be had.
Doors will be opened from 9am to 2pm on May 21 and 9am to noon on May 22.
Jimboomba Quota aims to see at least 250 people through the doors across the weekend.
There are six categories for entrants, including traditional art, modern art, 3D art such as pottery, sculpture and mosaics, the students’ section, which can include photography, the photography section and textiles/handicrafts section.
In each category, first price is $300, second prize is $100 and people’s choice is $50.
In the students’ category there is an extra prize for encouragement.
Each artist can enter up to six pieces with entries costing $10 per piece and all pieces being for sale.
Quota hopes to see a large number of entries this year in all categories.
The judges for the art show are yet to be officially announced.
This year, Quota has introduced a non-judging category for craft items.
Entries cost $5, with a maximum of five craft pieces, and all pieces must be for sale. Entries will close on May 9, and no late entries will be accepted. Download entry forms from quotajimboomba.org.au or contact Julie on 0408 434 018.
