Last minute negotiations have saved the South East Queensland Stars and they will now get to finish the WNBL season.
The Stars were placed into the hands of liquidators Deloitte on Wednesday with a statement issued by the club stating that they would cease operations immediately, but negotiations with the league and Basketball Australia and the club which took place the following day has saved the season for the club which currently sits fifth in the competition.
The Stars will complete their season beginning with an away game in Adelaide on Friday, followed by a game against Perth the following day.
The teams also has away games against Melbourne and Dandenong on February 20 and 21 and one final home game on February 14 against the Canberra Capitals.
If they can win four of those games they are a legitimate chance at making the top four and playing in the finals series.
There are currently unconfirmed reports that the Logan-based Stars will complete the season without their head coach Shane Heal.
There is also no word yet on whether the Stars will play on beyond this season.
