The South East Queensland Stars suffered their first defeat on their home court on Friday night, losing 88-85 to reigning WNBL champions the Townsville Fire.
The loss came despite a hot shooting performance from Nadeen Payne who scored 26 points off the bench.
The Fire were led to victory by their star centre Suzy Batkovic who tallied 30 points.
Stars point guard Lauren Mansfield continued her great start to the season with 20 points, while shooting guard Amy Lewis chipped in with 14 points.
The Logan based Stars will be hoping to improve their interior defence before their next match after the Fire were able to score 46 points in the paint.
The Stars then backed up the following day in Sydney against the Flames in another loss 94-69.
