SANTA Claus will be celebrating Christmas bush style when Browns Plains Baptist Church hosts its annual Christmas celebration on Saturday, December 5.
The event will begin at 3pm and activities will include face painting, a coffee van, a jumping castle and a petting zoo.
People will have the opportunity to bush dance when the carols commence at 5pm, which will be led by The Baby Boomer Party band.
The event will include a camp fire, free sausage sizzle, damper and billy tea and people are asked to bring a blanket or chairs to sit on during the festivities.
Organiser Chris Wren said the band will play traditional bushman songs and church members would lead the traditional Christmas carols.
He said the church enjoyed hosting a Christmas event each year to bring the community together.
“We like to give back to the community and we are not asking for anything in return, “ he said.
"We are a giving church and we are a part of the community.”
The church started its Christmas celebrations more than 20 years ago when members would sing carols in the streets or parks before starting its Christmas carols event at Yugumbir State School.
In a change of venue this year, the event will be at 31-43 Green Road, Park Ridge.
