FORMAL season is about to get under way for 2015 as several local high schools finalise preparations for their year 12 students’ night of nights.
But one local high school is sitting pretty, having already held its celebration earlier in the school year.
Emmaus College Jimboomba’s year 12 cohort celebrated a “Starry Night” formal at the Brookwater Golf Course.
Sixty-four year 12 students and their chosen partners took part in the celebration, kicking off the night with a red carpet arrival.
Students dined on pan-fried chicken, parmesan risotto cakes, olive tapenade and thyme jus for their main, before sharing in chocolate mud cake and pavlova for dessert.
Year 12 student Taylor Drake wrote a touching speech about her schooling at Emmaus to share with the cohort on the night, while year 12 student Brittanee Jane Lawler performed an exquisite solo violin piece.
Teachers said the highlight of the night however was the endless dancing.
Emmaus College’s year 12 class will mark the year’s end with a graduation dinner on November 19, before leaving school for the final time on the morning of November 20.
