RE last week’s story about the cancelled Pop Up community event. I for one can never understand the mindset of the petty bureaucracy that inhabits most council’s and government departments, it’s a blight on our lives and progress.
On behalf of Harcourts – Drew Real Estate I want to apologise, especially to our sales staff who spent weeks and many unpaid hours, organising sponsors, asking for donations and walking the streets delivering promotional flyers, all for charity.
The enthusiastic support of the local councilor Trevina Schwarz, the Relay for Life committee, local businesses and the lease holders of Jimboomba Park has been truly heartening. The Jimboomba Times and lastly, our sales manager Narelle White deserve an enormous thank you.
What a sad day it is when one individual can undo so much effort and then his department head tries to excuse his behavior under the pretense “it’s for safety”. It is no wonder, with people like this involved, little gets off the ground in Logan. Why would you bother? Anyhow that’s all behind us now, we are still forging ahead and will be at the Relay For Life event this Saturday, putting on our Pop Up event between 4pm and 7pm. We welcome you all to come along and support us while having fantastic family fun.
Bill Haggard, Jimboomba
