Tamborine Pony Club recently held the Zone 2 One Day Eventing Championships at their grounds and event which attracted riders from north of Brisbane and interstate.
One Day Eventing is a discipline involving three phases: dressage, cross country and showjumping.
The day was well organised and well run by the members of Tamborine Pony Club. Todd’s Plumbing and Electrical sponsored the event and riders in official classes received a championship rug and the winners in the unofficial classes were rewarded for their efforts by receiving a saddle cloth.
The winners of the official classes were Danielle Edwards from Nerang who won the One Star/Pre-Novice, Jamie Page from Park Ridge who won preliminary, Stephanie Carter from Tallebudgera who won introductory and Sydnie Williams from Tallebudgera who won the 12 years and under class.
In the unofficial classes, Hannah Murray from Alstonville won the 13 – under 26 years 600mm class, Ashleigh Lane from Oxenford won the 12 years and under 600mm class and Brookfield rider, Jane Pollitt, won the seniors, jumping the pre-novice height.
This was the first time in three years that the Zone has been able to run this championship, because Tamborine Pony Club, using a Get Playing Grant, was able to construct their cross country course.
