THE dedication of Hills International College students was recognised at the school's first semester academic assembly on Friday.
Students from prep to year 12, were rewarded for their studious efforts with a range of different awards handed out, including quiet achiever, academic honours and academic honours with distinction.
The school's student leaders also received certificates of recognition from the office of Queensland Senator Glenn Lazarus.
College principal Kevin Lynch said the awards were about highlighting the students' attitude and determination to do well at school.
"The student academic honours awards are for students who have achieved As in every subject, which is rare especially in year 11 and 12," he said.
"At any level that is significant but there is an extra degree of recognition that should be bestowed upon the kids in years 11 and 12 because it's all for keeps now for them.
"The quiet achiever awards are for those students who are doing well in at least half their subjects, it's a recognition of their attitude and dedication.
"It's not just a pat on the back, it's for consistently applying themselves beyond expectations. We like to recognise both ability and effort."
Mr Lynch said he was also pleased to see a large crowd of parents and carers attend the assembly.
"We have a lot of parent involvement which for me is heartwarming," he said.
