THE Jimboomba Redbacks will wear pink with pride when they take to the field in support of breast cancer research next month.
The club will host its second annual cancer fundraiser on August 1, with all invited to attend.
The event follows on from the success of the club's inaugral cancer fundraiser last year, which raised almost $4000 for prostate cancer.
Redbacks secretary and event organiser Kelly Bradshaw said the club hoped to raise even more this year, while also enjoying a few games of footy.
"We will have the 6s, 8s and 10s playing at home in the morning, they'll be wearing their pink socks," she said.
"The seniors will run on in their pink jerseys from 1pm and the masters after that."
She said the specially made pink jerseys would then be up for grabs.
"After the masters game the all the jerseys get auctioned off, sweat and all," she said.
"They love it, it gets them more money and the lucky people have to take it home and wash it, that's part of the deal."
Redbacks seniors captain Marc Ryan, whose Jimboomba business Bampak is sponsoring the event, said he was looking forward to playing in pink.
"It's all about the awareness of cancer and it brings the whole community together," he said.
The event will run from 9am until 8pm.
