STUDENTS from Jimboomba State School learned all that is cool about science on June 25.
The Science Factory, a science based workshop, visited the school to set up a range of different experiments and science themed gadgets and games in the school hall for students to interact with as part of the school's rewards day.
Science specialist teacher Garry Begley said the school engages each year level with the program which was at the school for two days for several reasons.
"It's part of our positive behaviour learning program, we have a rewards day where the kids do various activities and we also have the science factory," he said.
"It's all hand on science, everything from robotics to experiments.
"The kids just love it."
Science Factory's Peter May is on hand to supervise the children as they take in all the different aspects of science on offer, Mr Begley adding that he also shows the students real experiments as part of their experience.
"Peter does demonstrations for the kids, he is amazing with what he does," he said.
"It's been an outstanding success, we've had it here for two years now and I highly recommend it to other schools."
The science teacher said the day is also designed to hopefully steer some kids toward a career in the field.
"We also do it to promote science and a love of learning because the world needs more scientists," he said.
