FLAGSTONE boy Matthew Bristol is on a mission to brighten the life of a young burns victim in Vietnam.
In a few short weeks, the 10-year-old has almost completed a full set of Woolworth's new collectible Pixar dominoes and is asking the community to help him get more.
Matthew aims to send the dominoes to Vietnam with family friend Carolea Dietrich this weekend.
There, Ms Dietrich will deliver them to a little boy named Thanh, who is recovering from skin graft surgery.
"My mum has been telling me about Thanh and how he is in a lot of pain recovering from his surgery," Matthew said.
"I'd been collecting these dominoes since they came out and so I thought, why don't I collect some for the little boy, to distract him a bit and make him happier."
Ms Dietrich said Matthew's efforts were commendable.
She said she had been assisting Thanh's family since a trip to Vietnam a few years ago, and was proud to see how his story had resonated with Matthew.
"I was fortunate enough through the generosity of Australian friends and family to be able to raise money to organise and assist in the treatment of Thanh's burns (from hot water) at a hospital in Hanoi, Vietnam," she said.
"I will visit him at the end of April to check on his progress, and deliver the dominoes that Matt has saved to give Thanh."
Matthew's mum Annie Bristol said she hoped the community would help Matthew reach his goal.
"I've always said to Matthew how much we have in Australia and how even the things we throw away could mean so much to someone," she said.
"I'm proud he's taken that message on board."
