LOCAL talent shone at the Jimboomba Hall on the weekend as the 13th annual Quota Art Show was held.
Scores of artists from across the Jimboomba region entered the 2015 show, with a wide range of pieces displayed across every category.
Gail Byrne won the traditional art category for her painting Tiger, with judges saying it was a detailed piece that displayed incredible artistic talent.
Margaret Goldsmith won the modern art category for her painting Three Self-Portraits.
Judge Cal McKinnon said the piece stood out for its repition and use of a wide colour palette.
“It evoked a mood which I loved and captured different aspects of the artists personality,” Ms McKinnon said.
Jimboomba woman Jade Gronroos won the 3D art category for her “inspirational” sculpture Sleeping Man.
Elizabeth Collins won the textiles and handicrafts category for her entry, which judge Lyn Condon said “displayed hours of patience and imagination”.
Sandra Anderson won first and second place in photography. Her winning shot Ten in Hand, which featured 10 horses galloping through a field, was praised as an excellent concept captured in a great scene.
Hills College student Amy Turner won the youth art category for her self portrait, which featured her love of the fantasy and medieval genres.
Lillian Woodward won the primary school section for her piece Ocean.
Quotarian and Art Show organiser Elizabeth Lyons said the 2015 show was beyond expectation.
“It was a wonderful display of talent,” she said.
“And Friday night’s opening was an elegant affair for those who braved the heat.
“Thankyou to everyone who attended and congratulations to all the winners.”
