GREENBANK can lay claim to the best Arabian horse in the country.
Chris and Doreen Tresize’s filly Marwans Jewel in the Crown MPA was recently chosen as national champion filly at the Arabian National Championships at Werribee in Victoria.
The filly has also taken out the Queensland state titles, the East Coast Championships and the gold champion horse at Equitana in recent times.
Mr Trezise said he was immensely proud of the horse’s unbeaten run.
“It’s a phenomenal effort for a young filly, some horses are lucky enough to win one major show and she won them all, and we compete against some pretty big studs who have a lot of money,” he said.
“As a yearling she is undefeated.
“The thing is Arabian judging is all subjective and she has been judged by judges from Europe, Qatar, America, England and Australia so it’s just amazing that she has won every major Australian championship along the east coast.”
The couple has based their Myriad Park Arabian stud at their Greenbank home where they have lived for the past 15 years after previously living at Park Ridge.
They said the win was a true Queensland victory with Maddy, which is the filly’s stable, name trained by fellow Queenslanders.
“JH training run by Jason Hodgins and Jess Wilson, who moved to Victoria because we’ve lost so many Arabian shows in QLD,” he said.
“They are dedicated trainers so we trusted our filly to them and they have achieved amazing results as a training stable in Victoria and we just want to acknowledge and thank them.”
The couple have achieved outstanding results for a small stable, with Maddy the first foal born to an imported stallion from the USA named Echos of Marwan.
