TRAINING has begun in earnest for the Logan Village Mustangs Brothers Rugby League Club ahead of the start of the 2015 season.
The club is training regularly each week in preparation for another assault on the Greater Brisbane Junior Rugby League competition and club president Brad O’Keefe told said despite being a little low on numbers in some age groups he was confident of a strong season for the club across the board.
“It’s a bit quiet at the moment some of the teams a bit shy on numbers we could use a bit of a boost before the season starts,” he said.
“There’s still a few weeks until the season kicks off and we usually see more numbers as the season get closer as there is still some summer sports like cricket which haven’t finished up yet, but there is a bit of a happy feeling about the place at the moment which is always a good sign.”
The club has a recently refurbished ground to train and play home games on after some hard work by club members who laid new turf, dumped a load of sand, watered, mowed and fertilised the clubs home base ahead of the 2015 season.
The Mustangs Brothers Rugby League Club is open for interested junior players. Training is each night from 6pm to 8.30pm Monday through Thursday at 49 Kenny Road Chambers Flat.
